Shipping to the USA
To our American customers:
U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on goods made in China. This means that if a product is originally from China or Hong Kong then those goods are subject to tariffs of 10%-30%. While less than 10% of our products are from China, RICK RACK is temporarily suspending shipping to the United States. These tariffs are negatively impacting shipping times and processes.
The executive order also removed the de minimis customs exemption for goods from China. This little-known exemption allows people to bring or ship up to $800 US worth of goods per recipient per day into the U.S. without having to pay duty on those goods.
How does this affect RICK RACK and our American customers?
It means that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now needs to inspect every single parcel inbound to the USA to determine country of origin of parcel contents, as well as qualifying duties and tariffs before it enters the United States Postal Service for delivery. CBP is already struggling to adjust to the increased volume of inspections and we expect that there will be significant delays on any parcels shipped to the USA while U.S. Customs and small businesses such as RICK RACK adjust to the new rules.
As a result of these significant changes to shipping processes, RICK RACK is temporarily suspending shipping to the United States as we seek confirmation on how to proceed under these new restrictions introduced by President Donald Trump. Again, less than 10% of our products are from China - in fact most fabric comes from Italy, India, Turkey, and the European Union.
Basically, we don’t want to send parcels to you that might have significant delays in U.S. Customs, that face additional handling, or might be subject to tariffs and duties. We look forward to a positive resolution to Trump’s tariffs and will resume shipping to the United States once the situation stabilizes.
